![]() ![]() A few adjustments to the original 1980’s version of her buttermilk drop biscuit recipe and the addition of freshly minced garlic, cheddar and fresh parsley make them mouth watering and delish. Now, I know everybody and their brother (or Mother) has their own version but these are mine, concocted up by me with the help of my trusty ol’ Betty Crocker cookbook. Since I’m doing seafood dishes this week, I figured I’d share my favorite copy cat version of them. Leaves may become soggy and unpleasant. You’ve been to Red Lobster and know how amazing the “Cheddar Bay Biscuits” are. Tip: Do not leave a topping of fresh parsley on biscuits that will become frozen. Any leftover biscuits can be frozen and thawed/re-heated in the oven. Simply heat them back up in the oven when serving. Store the leftovers in the refrigerator and eat within 2-3 days. You may drizzle a little bit of neutral-flavored oil onto your hands, such as canola or coconut, to pat down or smooth the tops. Simply scoop them out with a spoon and then give the spoon a little shake for the biscuit to drop onto the cookie sheet. Do not try to roll the dough into balls – it will stick. You may also omit the garlic and onion powder if you want only a cheddar cheese-flavored biscuit. Tip: You can turn these into breakfast sandwich biscuits to pair with sausage and egg by simply omitting the Old Bay.Serves well with grilled fish and vegetables (I paired it with salmon and broccoli), other seafood such as snow crab legs, lobster, shrimp or shellfish, and even steak. While biscuits are chilling, clean up your workstation and get to prepping for other components of your meal. These biscuits need to chill for half an hour before baking. Tip: Be sure to put your unbaked biscuits on a cookie sheet or plate that will fit in the refrigerator. As with most biscuits, this recipe works best with cold butter and buttermilk.Make buttermilk fried chicken, and buttermilk pancakes, add a little bit to mashed potatoes, add a little to mac and cheese, or make even more biscuits! What to do with leftover buttermilk when bought from the store? Easy. white vinegar and then fill the rest up with milk to the 1 cup line. To make a homemade version of buttermilk: In a liquid measuring cup, pour 1 tbsp. Buy it from the store (it’s super cheap!) or make it yourself. Not the typical things we think of when we think of biscuits, but trust me it’s what these biscuits are all about. Would they be Cheddar BAY biscuits without it? Being born and raised as a Marylander, I won’t shoot an opportunity to use Old Bay down. You can swap in dried parsley here if it’s what you have on hand, but fresh parsley makes for a beautiful and fresh presentation. Pre-shredded cheeses often contain powders for anti-caking and preservative purposes. I strongly suggest grating your cheddar cheese as nothing compares to the flavor and soft texture. Last week, JPMorgan agreed to pay $290 million to settle a class-action lawsuit filed by a woman who claims the bank ignored red flags about Epstein's sexual exploitation of young women - some of whom claim he flew them to his private island to have sex with him and other men - because he helped the bank make money. Since Epstein's sex crimes first came to light in 2005, shortly after the Highbridge deal closed, the bank had many, many opportunities to ditch Epstein - including following his arrest on a prostitution charge in 2006, his guilty plea and jailing in 2008, in 2010 amid reports that Epstein was being probed for "child trafficking," and in 2011, when high-level JPMorgan compliance officials raised red flags internally. One month later, he was found dead in a Manhattan jail cell in what the city coroner ruled a suicide. After years of scrutiny over the government's handling of his case, federal prosecutors charged Epstein in 2019 with sexually exploiting and trafficking dozens of underage girls. It also solidified Epstein's relationship with Jes Staley, the head of JPMorgan's private banking business, who would be Epstein's principal contact at the bank until he was finally cut loose in 2013 and who once referred to Epstein as his "most cherished friend."Įpstein helped the bank by sending business its way, court documents say, and Staley and others, it has since been alleged, both protected Epstein and enjoyed his company - even as JPMorgan executives raised alarm bells over Epstein's accounts multiple times.įast-forward to today and Epstein's name is synonymous with sex abuse and the corrupting power of money. The Highbridge deal earned Epstein fees of $15 million for advising the fund, The Wall Street Journal would later reveal. Pretty soon, JPMorgan's rivals - from Morgan Stanley to Citigroup and the now defunct Lehman Brothers - were racing to pay top dollar to beef up their own hedge-fund offerings. ![]() ![]() Full Sleeve Valknut Tattoos and Larger Pieces People who get the valknut will all have some basic grasp of the mythology, but it is clear that the individuals decorated in this section felt the need to include elements of their own story within the confines of the three distinctly knotted triangles. The pieces in this section do not rely on the simplicity of bold or thin line work, but the inclusion of more detailed geometric work, photorealism, splashes of colour that come with surrealism, and even further Norse imagery to expand upon the narrative that comes with the legends. The narrative behind the valknut is intriguing and mystical on its own, but some people feel the need to blend varying kinds of images and tattoo styles that tell their own story with that of the valknut basic symbolism. It is likely that these individuals want their pieces to be noticed, which means the Norse concept of the afterlife is something they rather share, then keep to themselves. These individuals place them in areas that are more likely to be noticed, such as the back of the neck, the entire side of one chest, the center of another chest, and even the inside of a palm. Many of these pieces execute themselves with similar styles as the minimalistic pieces-thin lines, bold lines, and precise dot work, but are placed on different parts of the body that act as an exemplary backdrop for the size of the pieces. But the placement in conjunction with the size of a piece ink can sometimes signify more profound importance to the individual sporting the tattoo. ![]() Chest Pieces and Medium Size Valknut TattoosĪs previously mentioned, size does not always imply a deeper meaning. Only the few who admire Norse Mythology will comprehend the meanings of the shapes immediately, but even those who don’t could comprehend a conviction that is far from casual. The tiniest of pieces on thumbs utilize negative space, acting as a statement that is made in the quiet of its size. Others apply bolder, fatter lines, more of a forceful statement being made on a larger canvas such as a chest or forearm. Some apply straight line work, the swishing of pointed lines and the alignment of the three triangles bursting from a blank canvas. The pieces in this section rely on the simplicity of the knotted triangles and need nothing more about of their piece. Some people do not require a large piece of ink in order to contain a giant symbolic meaning. Popular locations include the bicep, shoulder, and upper back. This symbol has resonated among cultures for centuries, and its compounding popularity is inspiring tattoo artists. The triceps variation is traced to the Middle Ages, where it was printed on talismans said to possess magical ability. The valknut comes in varying designs, with the open, non-axial form being the most popular. The three interlocking triangles universally convey continuity, order, and undying will. Rebirth is another concept to which the valknut has ties given its imagery featuring nine points, intimating reincarnation. In some instances, it has come to represent the soul’s power and strength when battling with gods of death or other terribly adverse circumstances. The tattoo form that has its roots in Norse mythology is also known as Hrungnir’s heart, Knot of the Slain, Heart of the Slain, Heart of Vala, and the Borromean Triangle.įound engraved in ancient stones, the valknut is assumed to signify the afterlife. It is aesthetically minimal and versatile, but it is also packed with substance. Whether you want to invoke meaningful symbolism or don wicked geometrical lines with your body artwork, the valknut tattoo is an increasingly popular modern form of ink to select. ![]() Our full review of the Canon R10 will follow soon once we're able to get a review unit in-house, but in the meantime, you can get a sense of the camera's image quality performance by browsing through our initial set of Gallery Images.
